The World Chess Championship, renowned as the pinnacle of chess events, is an individual competition expected to attract participants from over 37 countries and 150 delegates. With past world champions, international masters, and FIDE-rated players among the chess enthusiasts set to compete, the event will foster international camaraderie while showcasing the remarkable talent of visually impaired chess players.
Our Past Successes
The AICFB boasts a rich history of successfully hosting international chess championships. Notable events include the Asian Chess Championship for the Blind in 2003 in Mumbai and 2017 in Mangalore, as well as the 11th Individual World Chess Championship for the Blind in 2006 in Goa and the 14th Chess Olympiad for the Blind in 2012 in Chennai. These tournaments received widespread acclaim, with the Goa event recognized by the IBCA president as one of the best-organized championships in blind chess history.
